Increasing Egalitarian Relationships

In her book, The Second Shift, Arlie Hochschild discusses how women still do the vast majority of housework after completing a full day's work away from the home. Men can learn shopping, cooking, and cleaning through classes. In the process, there is a good probability men will develop a new appreciation for the time and effort involved in completing the rest of the housework. Providing cooking classes for boys starts that process that much earlier. In co-ed classes, boys and girls must cooperate if they are going to eat. That cooperation can increase intergender understanding and respect in a natural way.
