Increasing Mindfulness

Mindfulness, or moment-by-moment awareness, leads to demonstrated health benefits in stress-reduction, cholesterol maintenance, and chronic pain management. On a psychological level, mindfulness has the potential to reduce intrusive thinking and quiet the incessant chatter in the mind. A professional approach to cooking can enhance mindfulness because of the numerous demands it presents for focused concentration. In addition, a focus on what, when, and how often we eat is a daily opportunity to practice mindfulness.
